landed in Moscow to collect my bags as instructed only to have the baggage handlers tell me they are going directly to Sochi. with am iron grip I would let go until a representative with my name on a list assured me it was OK. lots of sign language by the way.
two of us from Canada were escorted to the Sochi gate by the very friendly Rep that deposited s to wait for our flight. GiGi the other Canadian I met on the flight from Amsterdam bought me an airport Coffee. didn't have the heart to tell her what I did
still nice to have a hot brown caffeinated beverage. GiGi is an Olympic junky this being her 5th Olympics as a chef De mission she is team leader for the team Britain. lost her in the Sochi airport and that was my last Canadian contact for a full day.
at the Sochi airport I was greeted by one of the team team leaders, a good thing too. my accommodation sight was changed and we took a 1.25hr train ride in the other direction. New accommodations is a sea side hotel that must be really something in the summer and really really something on its hay day. I must say right from the get go all the young people assisting and helping are very friendly a try to understand English or at least my sign language. I created cards I call my Russian helper and if I can't pronouns I can point.
